First off, excuse me for using the word "dude", which seems to get you ticked off.I'm just trying to point out the fact that neither a netbook nor a laptop nor a desktop are going to be used for the same tasks as this tablet would. You can't handwrite on a netbook, for example, save maybe the freak few that do have a touchscreen.You can't read a book on a netbook like you could with this tablet. I mean yeah, theoretically you could, but that's not what a netbook is designed for.Essentially, this Microsoft Courier is an interactive notepad, something a tonne of people still use today and are not willing to give up for a device which requires typing. That's a pretty significant factor. I for instance would never have a netbook with me during fieldwork because, well, it's still clunkier than a notepad and a pen.Bottom line: I don't see why you're so surprised, the market for a device like this seems, at least to me, huge.?
Sort of true, Ghostalker. But only sort of.The people who use credit to buy things keep the economy going as long as they can eventually pay off their debts. It is true that buying on credit allows them to buy things earlier than they otherwise would have, and being in debt encourages them to work harder (whether encouraging hard work over quality of life is a good thing is another topic entirely... personally I refuse to be a debt slave).However, when they start buying with credit that they can never be reasonably expected to pay off, they instead simply contribute to asset price bubbles which inevitably come crashing down.So there is a level of credit that is helpful to the economy, and there is a level that is toxic or potentially even fatal to the economy. We've exceeded the toxic level, and we're well on our way to the fatal level with all these bailouts.
