The rest of us remember Atari 2600 games costing the same price as games do today, so clearly the quality to cost ratio has gone way up. The way I understand it, P2P requires that more of the data be generated client-side in order to compensate for the increase in latency that is ineveitable with using P2P. This works out OK for consoles, because consoles are extremely difficult to hack. This is not the case for PC games.Use P2P for PC games, and there will be hacks up the wazoo....just watch.!
