| It's something of a marvel that after more than a billion years of evolution, we still manage to produce so many morons like Kirk Cameron.On another note, I've been reading "The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution" by Richard Dawkins lately. I'm about 3/4 through it, and he has some excellent information in there, both for science and non-science types. One thing I appreciated about this book is that Dawkins avoids religion entirely and just focuses on the science, which means I might actually be able to get more people to read it. He starts off by mentioning that many religious leaders fully acknowledge the fact of evolution, which is something a lot of people forget. You can accept evolution without being a godless heathen. I mean, even the freaking Pope praised evolution, and the Vatican took how many centuries to finally admit their mistake when it came to Galileo? Either way, it's a good read, even though Dawkins does have a habit of going off on tangents about really silly things, like naming conventions when it comes to taxonomy and the like. That stuff is a little painful, but it's very easy to skip it and get right back to the good stuff. |

Funny how so many swarm to lay blame on everyone except the gutless wretch who decided to wade into a room full of unarmed people and begin ending their lives. Did this bastard check the belief system of each person before he dispatched them? Some people seem to be having difficulty laying the blame at the proper feet, but I'm damn sure God, or Allah, knows exactly which which pathetic, delusional, murdering bastard will pay eternally for this cowardly act.

Don't get me wrong... The droid is a nifty phone, and would be downright revolutionary - if it had come out two years ago and there had never been an iPhone. But there IS an iPhone and it's quite obvious which is the superior product and who is playing catch-up.I also hate AT&T's service. But I can't say I'm a fan of Verizon's policies. Let's not forget that they had the opportunity to carry the iPhone but turned it down because they insisted on fully controlling the branding, interface and price structure on the device. Now they are forced to make concessions in order to offer something - anything - that at least comes close to the iPhone.I lash out against the droid in large part because of the extremely misleading advertising behind it.?
That one shot of the castle looking thing proves it's a new engine. No more twice rendering of a scene which in turn limits the polygon count. The insane lighting engine of Halo 3 really limited the polygon count as well as the resolution since each moment was essetially rendered twice on the fly. |
